Event Description
Mass Customization is a way of producing goods and services satisfying the individual needs of customers and at the same time preserving the efficiency of mass production, in terms of low production costs and therefore low selling prices. It includes a number of production organization techniques and tools.
The event is the launch of the MC 4.0 Project, an R&D international project on Mass Customization funded by EU, with the participation of University of Klagenfurt and Energieforum Kärtnen.
A MC 4.0 DEA Center (DEvelopment and Application Center) has been established in Klagenfurt at Energieforum Kärtnen’s premises. The DEA Center develops services for local SMEs (consulting, training, research, technology transfer) on Mass Cutomization. During the event the services of the local DEA Center will be illustrated with the aim of establishing a set of local companies (business clusters) that have an interest in the management of product varieties and in the digitization of processes.
Participation will allow companies to deepen the issues relating to Mass Customization and above all to acquire usefulinformation regarding the benefits that can be gained from the use of configurators through which to combine the customizations requested by customers while maintaining the reduced costs, typical of mass production.
